Draft Strategic Plan

Consultations are being carried out in-person at organizational meetings this Spring. To participate in person, look for one of the following upcoming meetings:

  • CREPUQ, Montréal, May 7
  • OCUL, Brock University, May 12-13
  • CARL, Edmonton, May 18-20
  • CLA, Edmonton, June 2-5

All members are encouraged to review the draft strategic plan and submit any final feedback by email, by June 15. After consolidating the feedback solicited through these consultations, a final draft will be taken to the Board at its June 18, 2010 meeting for approval. The Plan will be presented for Member ratification at the AGM in Winnipeg, September 14-15, 2010.

 

Communications Outreach Reports

The Communications Outreach Executive Summary Report captures the findings of all three stages of the project: 1) Facilitated Brainstorming and 2) Interviews (both Qualitative), which were instrumental in shaping the questions for 3) the e-Survey (Quantitative).

The Executive Summary Report is shared with members and stakeholders so that all participants in the project can see how others responded to the questions, and where the similarities and differences occur. But rather than simply “throwing the report over the wall”, it is tied directly to the Strategic planning function which is currently underway. This Report is provided as a resource to inform member input into the strategic plan.

The e-Survey Report covers key areas of exploration including member satisfaction, the impact of CRKN's services, suggested improvements, preferred communications methods, possible future services and brand attributes assoicated with CRKN. Differences associated with language and size are also explored.

The Interview Report provides feedback from nine non-librarian stakeholders who do not have day-to-day contact with CRKN. These individuals represent university administration, funders and aligned organizations. They share their perceptions and advice for continued impact and effective service to Members.

 

CRKN Strategic Directions 2010-2012

CRKN will use this document during a series of interactive webconferences in order to encourage discussion about the major thrusts of the organization during the coming three years.
