Logo

The CRKN logo reflects the core values of the organization and its members.

The prominent, stylized maple leaves (shaded red) represent CRKN’s Canadian origins, membership and focus. They coordinate with the secondary maple leaves (shaded grey), which represent the organization’s dedication to pan-Canadian participation, and the contributions of its members in different regions across the country.

The maple leaves encircle a globe, which speaks to the fact that CRKN works to license and provide access to the best of global knowledge for the benefit of students and researchers across Canada. The globe also represents the World Wide Web, the vehicle by which students and researchers access CRKN-licensed publications and information.

The overall circular design of the logo signifies the way in which CRKN and its partners work cooperatively in a mutually beneficial and interdependent fashion. The stylization of the maple leaves to form arrows and vectors of movement denotes the organization’s vibrancy, momentum and commitment to continuous improvement in the building of research capacity in Canada’s universities.
